Thanks Crash. Usually I only feel like I'm about to have a cardiac after climbing St. Andrews. I can honestly say I hope I never run that fast again. If the Kenyans ever invade I'm going to wave a white flag because I'm not running from them.
On that note I'd like to introduce the October challenge. The working title is "October Off". Thats all I have so far.

Excellent run Ventoux! You broke six minutes! Originally, I had crazy aspirations to drop 15-30 secs every time I went out, but I was quickly humbled. I've got one more attempt in me before the month is through, and I'd be ecstatic to drop 4 sec if everything goes perfectly. In my opinion, you earned a celebratory beer AND cig.
ReplyDeleteThis month could have just as easily been titled, "make yourself want to ralph-tember" I'm a long way off, but I'll give it one more go too, likely on the last day. Hats off to you both.
ReplyDeleteLong way off, Guth? At least you broke 7:00; I'm still trying for 7:15. I'm impressed with the lot of you....
ReplyDeleteAlright, ran my last 4 laps for awhile. Ran a 00:06:02. And I woulda had the 2 seconds too but some of the jv football squad were leaving the field and I had to veer all the way out to lane 6 to avoid them on the last turn of my third lap. Also, I was using the stopwatch on my iPod, the numbers were too small to read during my splits with all the jarring my hands were doing. I don't have any idea what any of my individual laps times were. Except that I ran my first one too fast again. I wasn't sure I could finish my mile out during my second lap. I'm glad this month is over.
