Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid

Dear Davis Challenge Competitors,

What is Team Newcastle up to? Well, when Crash isn't running 20 milers, swimming at the YMCA, or practicing his pull-ups & crunches, he is busy cooking. Cooking what? Well, this weekend it was a batch of Hungarian beef stew. When he's not spinning, he's busy making amazing pasta sauce like this:

In between bike rides, somehow he finds time to turn this:

Into spectacular homemade fresh pasta like this:

So where's his teammate Gerald? Oh, just running a marathon in Arizona. Training in Seattle has become too easy, so she has been dispatched to South America to train in Patagonia over the next ten days.

Oh, by the way. Gerald has been training ALL year long for the beer competition. She has been permitted to not drink alcohol only when she's been on call, but other than that, Booze, Booze, Booze. Imagine the discipline required for that. Oh well, at least you guys can compete for 2nd place in Manzanita.

Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

  1. crash is right, been training for the beer competition. Unfortunately, will only be in Patagonia 2 days, the rest of the time will be in the 93 degree northern part of Argentina, where I will continue my beer training, as well as siestas

  2. I don't understand why you have pictures of a bowl of ragu out of the jar or a rock wrapped in plastic up with this post. And am I really supposed to be intimidated by the fact that you hand wash and air dry all your shoe laces every so often? I don't know what you are planning on cooking this year, but you might just want to make it tomorrow night and then bring it to the event in a plastic bag after its had a chance to sit around for a while. I'm told that approach has worked well in the past...
